AIME Hosted Buyer – Why you want to be one in 2020
Whether you’ve been a hosted buyer in the past or you have no idea what that even means, we’re here to tell you that in 2020 you’ll want to be on that coveted list to attend AIME.
Attending AIME is one of the key highlights in the events industry calendar. In 2019 we were extremely impressed with how Talk2 Media & Events refreshed the event for their inaugural year as organisers. The feedback from most exhibitors, hosted buyers, attendees and partners was glowing (you can read all about what we thought of AIME2019 here). As Talk2 Media & Events approach AIME2020 they’re not slowing down and have taken on feedback from all to refine and improve on the experience even more.
So, what does it mean to be a “hosted buyer” at AIME? Is it a big fat jolly? Time wasted out of the office? Absolutely not!
Yes, attending AIME as a hosted buyer can be fun. Yes, attending AIME as a hosted buyer gets you out of the office for a couple of days. And, yes, you’re going to enjoy the experience. But more importantly, attending AIME as a hosted buyer is going to be exceptionally worthwhile for your productivity, your personal & career growth and reviving what you love about your role in the events industry. And, what’s not to love about that?!

1. Learn and Grow | AIME’s Knowledge Program
The birth of AIME’s Knowledge Program has been a welcomed and valued addition to the program and as a Hosted Buyer, you get full access!
Comprising of the Knowledge Exchange (a full day of education sessions held on the Monday), plus additional sessions throughout the main event, you are guaranteed to leave AIME with new knowledge, skills and insight to help you personally and professionally.
2. Do Business Face-to-Face all in one place | AIME’s Meeting Schedule
A large component of the AIME experience is the dedicated appointments with exhibitors. The pre-scheduled appointments are your chance to meet potential venues and suppliers face-to-face and discuss your requirements for future events all under one roof. The opportunity to meet representatives from destinations all over the world will save you a load of leg work – bonus!
As a Hosted Buyer, you are committed to 32 pre-scheduled appointments over two days. The appointment system matches buyers and exhibitors to ensure you get value out of every connection you make. Doing business face-to-face in this environment is brilliant – come prepared with your event briefs and you’ll be back in the office by the end of the week with venues and suppliers sourced for the year.
3. Network and Make Long-lasting Connections | AIME’s Industry
Once you join the Hosted Buyer program you become part of the AIME family – which means it’s time to meet and network with lots of other people just like you. The Hosted Buyer program is curated to encourage networking amongst the buyers themselves, as well as the exhibitors and media attending.
There are up to eight scheduled networking events throughout the program including networking breaks, destination hosted breakfasts and lunches and of course, the evening functions (which are always a highlight of the AIME experience).
Attending AIME not only provides you with an opportunity to catch up with people you already know (which, let’s face it, is difficult when you’re a busy event professional) but also to make new, long-lasting connections with your peers. And, if you don’t know a soul when you arrive, don’t worry – event professionals are notoriously friendly and you’ll be skipping around AIME with new friends by the end of day one.

- AIME staff meet Hosted Buyers at the Airport
- Hosted Buyers are placed in hotels that match their needs
- AIME staff get to know the Hosted Buyers on a personal level to leave little personal touches in their hotels to make them feel welcomed during their stay
You will get access to the meeting scheduler ahead of time, and the Talk2 Media & Events team are on hand to help you select your appointments, facilitate connections, and ensure you get the most from the event.
