Blank Canvas Warehouse Venue | Three Brand Event Examples

“Blank Canvas Warehouse Venue” – it’s a common request from event planners looking for the perfect venue for a brand or showcase style event. Why? Usually because it provides them with an opportunity to get creative!

The blank canvas refers to a venue that acts as a back drop for the event’s own styling – i.e. The client can let their own brand and products shine without clashing with a venue’s elaborate or themed interior styling.

The warehouse element refers to a venue being seen as stripped back, raw and industrial – a look that is currently bang-on trend.

So, when you find a venue that combines the two elements you get the perfect venue for event organisers to host trendy events that show-off their brand without any distractions.

This week on the blog we’re taking a look at three different events and how the organisers used one of Sydney’s most popular blank canvas warehouse event spaces, The Studio, to showcase their brands and products.

EXAMPLE #1 | Fossil Group – SS19 Seasonal Launch

Event purpose?
Innovative and trendy watch and accessories brand, Fossil Group used The Studio to launch their new season collection to buyers.

How did they use the space?
The client hired the entire venue which includes two studios, gallery and kitchen area.
The main (large) studio was used to showcase products, and for clients to place orders. A custom ball pit was added for a bit of extra fun. The Little Studio (upstairs) was used for daily internal company meetings, while The Gallery was used for coffee and a green room. The kitchen area is big enough for both catering and storage needs.

The client created function areas for displaying product, making sales, hosting meetings and also adding a little fun. The coloured props popped against the white walls.

“We have received excellent feedback from Customers who attended our event last week. The Studio was the perfect venue and the ball pit a massive hit.”

EXAMPLE #2 | A Night in the NT

Event purpose?
Access PR, on behalf of Tourism NT hosted A Night in the NT for Media – a chance to showcase the art, food and vibrancy of the Northern Territory to those based in Sydney.

How did they use the space?
The main Studio’s polished concrete floors proved the perfect canvas for the team to install a huge sandpit, which they then projected a spectacular light show on to called, Grounded (a collection of Indigenous artworks).

In the upstairs studio (aka Little Studio) the client installed plinths to display a collection of Tjanpi Desert Weaver baskets and hung indigenous quilts on the walls.

A bonus of this particular venue is that the owners invite clients to bring in their own caterers – making this one extremely flexible event space! To enhance the theme of this event the organisers commissioned Zach Green from Elijah’s Kitchen to cater – a pop-up restaurant experience using indigenous ingredients (read more about Zach Green here).

“The Studio is a wonderful and flexible space, with great facilities. Easy team to work with and great for events. Would definitely consider it again.”

EXAMPLE #3 | Hunt & Brew Sydney Product Launch

Event purpose?
The Sydney product launch of Hunt & Brew – a café quality, single origin cold brew coffee.

How did they use the space?
The client relied on the venue team for not only providing space, but also sourcing furniture including plinths, trolleys, Perspex trestle tables. The Studio team also assisted with the set-up and running of the event.

Using the main Studio, the client created a private art exhibition for their guests which was displayed on the walls of the venue. The exhibition included works by world-renowned illustrator Kerby Rosanes (who is also responsible for the drawings on their product’s label) & Jarrad Seng (filmmaker), who were both commissioned by Hunt & Brew to create works that captured the brand’s single origin product.

Around 100 guests were given a bottle of Hunt & Brew served in the bottle with a paper straw on arrival before walking through the space viewing the exhibition.

Catering was provided by Eat Art Sydney Food Truck, which parked in the venue’s driveway, just outside the venue’s entrance.

“Thank you again for sharing The Studio for our event, it was a great success. Sebastian you were amazing! thank you for all your help. Couldn’t have done it without you :) “
