Event Showcase | An Event for Event Managers
Recently we were lucky enough to attend the inaugural AMP Amplify’s Event for Event Managers. And what a treat it was!
Organised by the AMP Amplify team they said,
It was a chance to showcase our Amplify speakers, for event professionals to have the opportunity to network with industry peers and simply to enjoy yourself!
With over 150 industry partners and event professionals in attendance, it was a fantastic turnout. If you weren’t able to make it, here’s what you missed…
The Venue | A Room with a View
Perched high above Circular Quay, the event was held at AMP’s dedicated event space. The views are jaw-dropping – but don’t get too excited, this venue isn’t for hire and is available for AMP events only (we’re gutted too!).
To complement the view and the five-star content at the event, Valiant Events styled the space with elegant lounges and luxurious furnishings.

The Catering | Moreish Delights!
On arrival, guests were offered an Aperol Spritz – a fun summer starter. Roving canapes and regular wine top-ups were offered throughout the evening much to everyone’s delight. However, the highlight on the menu was undoubtedly the dessert table by Moreish Cakes that, for a while at least, seemed too good to eat!
The Entertainment | Shimmer, Shimmer
Entertainment on the evening was plentiful with Solutions Entertainment providing a grand red-carpet welcome and a backdrop of soulful tunes.
They also arranged for guests to be provided with the touch of glitter as requested by the dress code of the evening and there were plenty of Event Pros ready to get their shine on!
Another interactive element was provided by L and T Events with an old school style skill tester (with the added bonus of being able to move the claw as many times as you wanted to).
The Speakers | Inspired & Impressive
The MC for the evening was Anthony Laye who astounded everyone with his impressive mentalist skills. An expert line up of speakers were perfect for the calibre of Event Managers in the rooms. The speakers discussed challenges for large scale events, their trend predictions for 2020, plus the importance of nutrition and sleep when working in the events industry.
Michele Chevalley-Hedge will also be speaking at Evolve in 2020, so if you missed her at Event for Event Managers you can hear more from her in the Hunter Valley this coming May.

Final Word…
Hosting an event for Event Managers is always a challenge – we’re a tough crowd to please. However, we’re confident that all those in attendance were delighted they rocked up for this one. A huge shout out to the AMP Amplify team who conceptualised and organised this fabulous event – we hope it will become an annual celebration for event professionals.
