Event Showcase | 20th Birthday Celebration and Grand Opening
Wine & Dine’m Catering recently celebrated their 20th Anniversary, alongside 220 of their closest friends; this was an event to remember. Not only were they celebrating this noteworthy milestone but also the opening of The Fortitude Music Hall in Fortitude Valley QLD.
Guests were welcomed to the event with drinks and canapes by Wine & Dine’m Catering Director, Craig Fox in the Foyer bar. The main auditorium was kept closed until guests were escorted to the mezzanine for a grand reveal and their first glimpse of the venue’s stage and main venue space.
The Fortitude Music Hall is a grand art-deco styled theatre and is billed as the largest ballroom/theatre styled venue in Australia. The site boasts a 3,000 person standing capacity and a 1,100 seated capacity. Naturally, this gave the team a LOT of space to work with for styling. Wine & Dine’m Catering was keen to push the boundaries in terms of creativity and innovation for this event; boy – did they deliver!
Guests had plenty of catering options to indulge in, with various stations set up around the room. At one end of the theatre floor, a grazing station with a replica of Brussel’s Mannekin Pis statue offered guests a fruit punch poured from the fountain’s unconventional and cheeky spout. Across the room, a magnificent cheese wall declared itself the new trend, sure to be replacing doughnut walls. In the back corner, a laser cage surrounded the dessert station where a single waiter stood holding an abrupt “WAIT” sign to any guest who approached before dessert was served.
The AV, Styling and Production
As a purpose-built music venue, The Fortitude Music Hall is well equipped with AV and production opportunities. Ikonix supplied the amazing laser cage that kept guests away from dessert while AVIdeas took care of the lighting and furniture.
Guests were kept entertained throughout the evening by Liquid Wax in the DJ booth and a photobooth by Box and Dime.
Guests at the event were pretty happy as evidenced by some thank you notes below:
“Wow Wow Wow what an unforgettable evening last night was and what a great way to celebrate your 20th anniversary. A huge thank you for the invitation extended to last night’s event. It was absolutely incredible all the food and service was impeccable and so friendly. Some of my standout favourite canapés were the mini goat’s cheese discs at the start, the blue cheese rectangular discs on that amazing cheese station. Honestly you guys stamped your mark very firmly last night as ‘the’ caterer in Brisbane. So excited for you all and we look forward to working together more over the years to come”
“Thank you for an absolutely gorgeous evening! A venue befitting such an occasion. Congratulations again to you and the team.”
Wine & Dine’m Catering Director Craig Fox says of their future:
“Whilst one-off catering events (either private, corporate or special events) have been the mainstay of catering for the last 20 years, it is in venues and regular contracts that allow us to grow. It is not our intention to step away from these one-off events as they will always be central to our business. As we move into our 21st year we will be embracing venues like The Fortitude Music Hall to grow our range of services and create a more consistent business. Now more than ever my focus is on how we can step a little gentler through the world, looking at our impact not just environmentally but focusing on the wellness of our staff, engagement of our clients and the next generations of hospitality staff.”
