Get Excited To Get Local!

Guest blog by Gary Bender, Managing Director, World Corporate Travel

2020 has been a torrid time and a matter of survival for most, but there is a bright side, and some industries and businesses are busier than ever, and all of them can’t wait to celebrate and meet face-to-face.

Virtual events were a band-aid. Australians and New Zealanders love to travel and meet, it’s a key driver of our culture, we love to chat, connect and forge relationships.

Events matter. Product launches generate business. Workshops, conferences and meetings not only provide an educational aspect, but they grow networks. Motivational exercises and team building strengthen relationships and connect people. Incentives reward sales and loyalty, driving further business.

Attending an event, conference, meeting or seminar puts you in front of the right people for your network, whether in your hometown or abroad. It provides knowledge sharing and unique experiences that virtual just can’t offer.

In any industry, corporation or association, now is the time to start planning to re-connect, to GET the economy moving and GET face-to-face communications going again.

C’mon Australasia, now is the time to step out. Let’s all work together to deliver great events. There is a huge amount of interesting destinations in the Australasian arena. We encourage event organisers to use the destination to its fullest potential to enhance the event. Use local knowledge and support local services.

Get Local

Get Local is a great base to start.

Get Local is a brand-new exhibition that will showcase destinations, products, suppliers & operators across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific for events, meetings, conferences, incentives & group business travel.

From remote and unique destinations to major cities, they each have an incredible opportunity to GET out there and GET noticed.

Along with great destinations, we are blessed with world class hotels and function venues, state-of-the-art audio visual, high-end food and beverage options, home grown speakers, visionary event designers and experienced producers. We do events and we do them well.

So, who will exhibit at Get Local? Venues, Bureaux, Hotels, Staging, Lighting, Entertainment, Tour Operators, and all other suppliers to the meeting & events industry.

Who will attend Get Local? Event Managers, PCOs, PA/EAs, Incentive Organisers, Travel Management companies, Corporate and Association Meeting Planners and many more.

Post COVID-19 there is a great opportunity for raising the bar even further on event experiences.

Get Local

It’s time to RE-connect with Australia.

The anticipation is building for a new show. One which is dedicated to Australasian products and attended by the who’s who of the industry. A show providing access to not only those at the top end of town, but the small operators, the family run business, the sole traders.
