Give us a snap shot of your career to date?

I am currently restaurant supervisor and I look after the functions and events for Degani Zetland. My role also includes training staff and making the rosters to ensure that each event will be looked after without a hitch. My job keeps me busy and it keeps me on my toes!

The most memorable event you have worked on and why?

The Degani Zetland Christmas dinner and party upstairs in our events space! There was a great atmosphere with a DJ playing, the guests were ordering cocktails and everyone was dancing on the dance floor having a great time. All of the staff were having a great time talking to the guests.

What did you ‘learn the hard way’ when planning an event?

Not setting a goal and not knowing the target is a hard way to plan an event.

What are three personality traits that are required to succeed in the events industry?

Flexibility, innovation and creativity

If you could share one piece of advice to those starting out in the industry what would it be?

You’ll need to have good time and team management skills.
